Richland County’s “Lawyer in the Library” Offering Appointments for June

The Second Judicial Circuit’s “Lawyer in the Library” program for Richland County has announced its June dates. Retired Judge Kimbara Harrell is scheduled to meet with interested parties at the Olney Public Library located at 400 West Main Street, Olney on June 18 and June 25.

The program provides a licensed attorney for 20-minute appointment periods to assist individuals with free legal coaching, document review, assistance with electronic filing, and referrals to additional services. These free services are made possible by grant funding obtained by Second Circuit Chief Judge Melissa Morgan from the Illinois Supreme Court Commission on Access to Justice and the Administrative Office of the Illinois Courts.

Pre-registration is required. All interested persons must schedule an appointment by contacting the Olney Public Library at (618) 392-3711. Appointment times are now being reserved between 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm.

Participants are asked to bring all paperwork related to their legal questions with them and sign in at the desk upon arrival at the library. Due to limited appointments, persons can only be seen once every 30 days.

For more information, please contact the Olney Public Library or the Office of Second Circuit Chief Judge Melissa Morgan at (618) 244-8036.
