Richland County Circuit Court to Receive $107,000 Technology Grant for Additional Upgrades

The Second Judicial Circuit is proud to announce that Richland County Circuit Court has been awarded a Technology Modernization Grant for the third consecutive year.  The grant program, funded by the Illinois Supreme Court and the Administrative Office of the Illinois Courts, was offered to county court systems in the State for technology upgrades to modernize the delivery of court services.

Richland County Circuit Clerk Zachary Holder and Richland County Resident Judge Ray Vaughn sought funding this year and were awarded just over $107,000.  The grant was awarded to fund new WI-FI for the courtrooms and the Circuit Clerk’s Office, new software, and other technology including the development of a new Circuit Clerk’s Office website that will improve the flow of information to court participants.

Chief Judge Morgan expressed gratitude for the grant stating, “My staff and I have enjoyed working with Judge Vaughn and Circuit Clerk Holder to secure this funding. Over the last two years, Richland County Circuit Court has been fortunate to receive grants that have enabled them to purchase technology equipment and make upgrades that simply would not have been possible without this funding. This year’s award of over $107,000 will allow them to continue making improvements to their Court without having to pass those costs on to the people of Richland County.  We are extremely grateful to the Supreme Court and the Administrative Office of the Illinois Courts for this generous grant.”

The Second Judicial Circuit is comprised of twelve counties: Crawford, Edwards, Franklin, Gallatin, Hamilton, Hardin, Jefferson, Lawrence, Richland, Wabash, Wayne, and White.
