The Illinois Judges’ Association promotes “Judges Go to School Day” each year in February and encourages judges across the state to visit their local schools and interact with and read to students. The Second Judicial Circuit is proud to recognize Judge Denton Aud for his recent visit to Mrs. Megan King’s sixth grade classroom at Carmi’s Washington Attendance Center.
The visit was featured on the school’s official social media with the post that reads, “A big thanks to Judge Denton Aud for spending the day with sixth grade ELA students! He told students about his journey to become a lawyer and judge. Then gave them some helpful advice as they prepare for a unit on arguments and debates.”
Judge Aud also commented on his participation in the school activities stating, “It was such a pleasure to be able to speak to our local sixth graders about the legal profession and the possible pathways that exist, as well as provide them with some tips to help them with their debate assignments. The way that they engaged with asking questions was also such an enjoyable experience.”
